We went up for a walk in the cool forest today on the Salmon River near Mt. Hood today. It was great! Photographing in the sunshine is challenging, the brightness that is visually appealing is often too harsh for a decent photo.

I’ve always loved a photograph that has a lot of textures. Water is the magical element that brings brushstroke textures to a print for me. In this image, I love the textures, movements and depth of colors. The golden yellows and greens of the reflected trees compete with the green mosses and deep earth tones beneath the surface. Motion, tension, release are all here in one fleeting moment on the Salmon river. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
